Harper at Two

Harper had portraits made for her second birthday. She is such a sweet baby girl, quickly turning into a smart toddler.  She loves animals, her brother, her grandparents, Mike and Treva, and rice.  She is smart, sassy, cuddly, very strong-willed, and knows what she wants.  She is extrememly verbal and can clearly articulate what she wants and thinks.  Some of my favorite phrases are:

  • "Hold you, momma!"
  • "Daddy, shake your booty!"
  • "I CAANNNN'T! NO! I CAAAAAN'T!" (Used when she doesn't want to)
  • "Awww, sooo cute!" (To anything little, in a very high voice)
  • (To the tune of frere jacques): "Where is Dada, where is dada? Where is he? Where is he?" (etc)  She does this for everything.
  • She knows about 1,000 songs!
What she loves to do: Play hide and seek, play outside, jump on the trampoline, hide (all the time), sing, dance, and cuddle.  She loves the Bubble Guppies, Frozen, and babies. She is naturally very maternal and loves to take care of her little toys.  Anytime someone coughs, she pats them and says, "You okay, Momma? Awww, you sick? It's okay. All better."  The sweetest, cutest thing, EVER.

She is such a beauty, and even prettier inside than out.

Harper's 2nd Birthday Party!

Harper turned two on March 21, 2015! She had a wonderful birthday party, with lots of family and friends present.

At the end of the night, Hadleigh Walden came running out to Allison and me, and said, "You guys gotta come see this!" We came inside to find all the gifts opened. HAHA!
It was a wonderful day celebrating a sweet little princess.

First Haircut!

Well, Harper's hair has been growing a ton in the back, but where she rests her head on the pillow gets so tangled that it breaks. I have been trying to figure out what to do, and so I read some articles online. Many suggested a haircut encourages baby hair to grow more quickly and thicker. I also read the best time to cut for growth is when there is a full moon in Leo. (Whatever that means.)  I googled, "When is the full moon in Leo in 2015?" and it came up February 3, 2015, which just so happened to be that day.  That night, I succumbed to the wives' tales, and took my sweet little lady to get her haircut.  She is such a doll and sat nicely!

Spring Break Day 2

Today we went to the children's museum! (We planned to go yesterday but when we got there, it said "closed". On Mondays?! Really? But then Beck wanted to go bowling anyway, so it all worked out. Anyway, I digress...)

The kids loved the museum, especially the bubbles, water table, paint, and pretend/dress-up areas. But Beckett's favorite was a new building room, and Harper liked the sensory room. (And my keys.)

Then we walked on the sidewalk to the zoo, since they are connected. The playground was totally empty so we played for a little while, but the slides were wet. While we were playing, the wolf climbed up onto his log and started howling. His pack mate died yesterday and it was the saddest, most haunting sound. We are zoo members so it was free to go in and pay him a visit. Then beck wanted to see the snakes, so we did. Harper was very interested in the naked mole rats (eek!) and the peacocks along the way.

Mr. Monitor:

Beckett said, "I think he is the big bad wolf." Poor thing.
Peacock!
Wind machine:
Pin wall (b loves this an harp did, too!)
Planing a garden - cool puzzle!
In the doghouse (perfect name for our little scooter!):
Mole rt watcher:
She liked the turtles, too:
New building room:
"Hold me!"
Driving the pizza delivery truck:
Co-pilots!
Climbing high:
Cool guy in his sunglasses!
Harper playing with her dolly before we left. She's started cuddling them and saying "baby" while she pats them on the back.  SO CUTE!
