6-Week Check-up

Harper and I wet to Effingham for my 6-week post-operation check-up this morning. As I walked in, carrying her in the pumpkin seat in one hand and the diaper bag on the other, I started to think about our bodies' amazing power to heal. I haven't watched a video of a c-section, and I have no plans to ever do so, but from all descriptions, it's kind of an ordeal. So to be able to return to normal activity without pain or limitation so quickly is just another miracle in the series of miracles that is having a child.

2-Year Appointment

Beckett's two-year appointment was at the same time as Harper's one month. He is 34" and 28 pounds, which is 50% for weight and 25% for height. He is way ahead of every developmental milestone, especially in communication. Dr. Leifheit was especially impressed with his use of pronouns, possessives, and complete-complex sentences. Physically, he is also on track, able to walk backwards, soon, go up and down stairs with alternating feet, stack blocks, color and manipulate a pencil with the correct grip.

He had to have a shot and lead screening, both not too fun. The blue lollipop and Mater sticker almost made up for it.

He is such a sweetie! Here are some pictures from the appointment.

1 month!

Harper is one month old!

At her doctor's appointment, she weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 21 inches long! She is doing really well and is such a sweet baby. She has had some issues with reflux, so Dr. Leifheit prescribed some medication for us to try.
