Slacking.

No recent blog posts.  But my laundry got done this weekend! Priorities. Ugh.

Company

I love our neighborhood.  When the weather turns nice, everyone is outside, enjoying the quiet street and safety of knowing everyone in each house.  At any moment, we could have Boy Scouts ringing the doorbell or a spontaneous visit from friends.  This is especially true as Shonn begins working outside more frequently.  I love that type of friendliness, and it's nothing new.... But this year, I'm noticing a new trend I haven't experienced before.  The little ones in the neighborhood are getting big enough to explore, and they are completely comfortable stopping by on their own. As a result, we've had some hilarious conversations and also some impromptu kickball games start in our backyard over the past few days.

My favorite visit so far was from Riley and Caprice, who just came over to see what was going on.  They played with Lexi, had a cupcake, and then started playing house with Beckett.  They picked out his clothes for the week, read him several books, organized his toys, and "helped him" climb into his new bed.  It was darling, and Beckett LOVED it!  I hope they come back soon. :)

11 Months Old!

Beckett turned 11 months old on the 14th of March, and here we are on the countdown to his first birthday! I know every mom says this, because I've read it on every mom-blog, and I've heard it from every mom-friend, but WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE? Oh my.

Beckett is such a happy guy. He is SO much fun and is really getting around everywhere now. He is walking, crawling, and talking, talking, talking! He loves to read books, and is mimicking sounds he hears. He says MAMA and DADA all the time, and he is associating us with it now. He also knows MOO for cows, GRRR for tigers, and he snorts for pigs. (And he also snorts for fun. It's hilarious.) Beckett loves eating meat - all kinds of meat - and he casually drops the food he isn't so fond of over the edge of his high chair for little miss Lexi. Lexi loves him and is extremely patient. She has fun playing with the ball when Grandma comes over.

So far, only one bump on the head, but he is daring and has taken a number of falls. (As you can see, he always has something in his hand, which doesn't help with the falling, but it's super cute.) He still doesn't fuss much, unless he's tired, and he is such a cuddler. My favorite!

Here are a few pictures from his 11-month birthday shoot. :)

Keeping the neighborhood safe with Lexi.

I'm ELEVEN MONTHS OLLLDDDD!!

Yeah. I'm 11-months old.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Here are some of Beckett's friends who stopped by.
Amazing Cupcakes by Kathy Forlines! The decor on top was fondant, so we all got to eat gold and rainbows...if that isn't good luck, I don't know what is!
Our home was invaded by a leprechaun late Friday evening. Luckily, he was a friendly little fellow, and all he left behind were footprints and goodies for Beckett's St. Patty's Day party.  Check out his treasure and Beckett's friends below.  My first Kelly's Kids trunk show was a success, too.

Florida!

I have so much to catch up on! This weekend was so much fun - Shonn and I took Beckett on his first plane ride as we went to sunny Florida for Mandy's wedding.  It was wonderful!  I have a ton of pics to post, but I haven't had time to go through them since we got home.  We actually got into Bloomington at 5, but by the time we got home, we crashed.  All of us.  One quick funny story, though (actually horrible parenting story) was poor Beckett had on the same diaper from when we left Tampa until the car ride home.  We weren't planning on that for money-saving reasons, but we just didn't have a chance to change him because we were all over the place.  So, when we finally got in the car to leave, buckling him into the car seat was a bit of a problem because his little diaper had expanded like one of those dollar store "just add water" toys. Yipes. That diaper weighed about 20 pounds.  All liquid.

Anyway, happy pics and stories of the beach and Mandy's wedding to come soon! xo
