Will You Marry Me?

My dad proposed to my mom at Starved Rock on the fourth of July 40 years ago.  As a surprise, he planned to re-enact that special moment this year, with family members and friends there to help celebrate.  We met at the same bench he proposed to her, and I asked them to take some pictures with the kids.  She thought it was just a family get together because Mandy was home.  As I took pictures, all of our family and friends walked up to the bench.  That's when Dad got down on one knee and proposed to her all over again!  It was a very special, sweet moment!  Afterwards, we all went to Grizzly Jack's Resort and spent the day visiting, playing at the indoor waterpark, and amusement park, too!  Beckett LOVED it!  We had a very nice time, and Harper was great in the car.  I was so happy Shonn was able to take Saturday morning off work so he could come.  We had a blast playing Laser Tag and hanging out!  Here's to 40 years, Mom and Dad!

Mandy's Baby Shower

Mandy was home for Mom and Dad's party on the 4th, and we had her baby shower on Sunday. She looks beautiful and we are all so very excited to meet her little girl in September!

The baby's room is done in Land of Nod's farm animal theme, so we went that direction for the party, and it was a surprise for Mandy.  We all made scrapbook pages for a memory book, and everyone had a card for a specific birthday. We each wrote her a letter to open on that birthday.  (Even Harper made a page!)

Levi, Shonn, Dad, and Beckett made an appearance (especially for the cupcakes and company). It was a very nice time.

Instead of a guest book, people signed letters for the baby's room
Aunt Julie and Grandma came just in time to help finish setting up!

Harper can't wait to have a little cousin to play with!

 All done!
 Saying goodbye is hard.
