We made it through the first week! And by "we", I mean a small army. Here is a list of thank yous for the people that made survival possible this week.
1) My wonderful husband. Shonn's birthday was Thursday, and what did he do? Made dinner. (pic above) He also made dinner Friday night. Every night this week, he helped with the dishes, laundry, food - whatever needed to be done so that when I got home, I could snuggle with Beckett. His help made it so much easier this week. He's such a good man!
2) My wonderful Dad. You saw the blog entry about his fun day with the Brick. I forgot to mention, however, that they also made a "life-size model of the universe". Our closet is packed. Dad hasn't been feeling great this weekend because of allergies (pollen count is ridiculous right now), and I hope he gets feeling better soon!
3) My amazing mother-in-law. The dinners Shonn cooked were purchased and prepared by Janis when she was here on Monday and Friday. That helped so much in terms of time - I didn't have to spend any on food, and I could give it to the little guy instead. She also loves Beckett so much and it shows from the fun they have together. She sings him songs and plays games with him all day long! This week, he must have really liked Jack and Jill - Grandma made a note that he "was really surprised that Jack broke his crown!"
4) An incredible boss who looked at me at the end of each day and said, "Christy - go home. Beckett needs his mommy." I am so thankful for a supportive co-worker who really gets the importance of family. He never once made me feel guilty for leaving on time.
5) Casey for watching Beckett twice and sending me a picture of him laughing. She also loves him and cuddles him all day!
6) My friend, Katy, for sending me a message that when she dropped her son off at Katy's, Beckett was playing with Kiptyn and really happy.
7 )Charlie and Lexi for getting their hair cut so I don't have to vaccuum twice per day.
8) Everyone who took the time to ask me how I was doing and to reassure me.
9) The other working moms who gave me advice on the first day back via facebook.
10) And of course that sweet little guy who smiles and melts my heart when I get home!
