How Does Your Garden Grow?

I'm so excited to have a garden this spring! Shonn and Beckett started our peat pots (I think that's what they are called; thankfully, I'm married to a horticulture genius!).  Shonn is such a great dad - he was teaching Beckett all about the seeds and talking to him about growing plants the whole time.  He is so patient and really teaches while he spends time with him.  Warms my heart.

We are going to have carrots, green beans, tomatoes, and cantaloupe.  (And maybe strawberries?)

Fall Decorations

 

Saturday morning, Beckett and I went to Grammy and Papa’s house.  Our mornings start a littler earlier than theirs, so I felt badly when their dogs barked and woke Papa up.  He came outside and met us, where we were inspecting the goldfish in their pond.  We measured Beckett’s hand in the handprint from this summer and his hand was only a little bit bigger.  Then we loaded up mums and pumpkins mom and dad got at the produce auction in Arthur.  After we got them all loaded up in the back of The POS, we took them to our house for decorating.  As you can see, Beckett was a big help to Papa as we got everything unloaded, watered, and decorated.  It was a perfect day to be outside, and we had a lot of fun.  I think Beckett's natural decorating with outdoor materials will be a huge asset to Hild Landscaping. :)

We celebrated with a cupcake Beckett made with Grammy earlier in the week.

 

 

Little Landscaper

Time to install a water feature!

Mom and Dad were installing a water feature in their garden today, so we headed over there to see the big cement truck.  Beckett loves big trucks, so Gramps invited us over to see it. We ended up joining the fun, and Beckett got some additional experience that should get him in the door at Hild Landscaping someday.

You can see the forms that the cement was being poured into here.  The stream goes through their wildflower garden to a little pond, where you will find the lucky goldfish from Beckett's first birthday party. :)

"Let's keep it moving, folks."  We put Beckett's handprints in the cement.

Time to get to work.  "I'll show em how it's done! My daddy taught me!"

 Beckett and I got to have lunch with Miss Krista and her little guy, Colin, today! It was such a treat to see her, and of course to meet Colin. He is such a doll, all smiles and sugar. He was content the whole time in his pumpkin seat, making eyes at me. :) Beckett was very interested in him and wanted to hug and squeeze (and maybe eat) him. They were cute together. I wish I had more time to spend with Krista - everytime we catch up, it's like no time has passed. She is a great friend and has been a big part of my life.

Here are some examples of what we can do regarding landscape designs for customers. Sometimes people want to do their own work, but they aren't sure what to put where. One of the biggest mistakes people can make regarding investing in landscaping is starting without a good plan. Plants grow at varying rates into a wide variety of shapes and with diverse root system needs. A good landscape design can prevent problems from occurring down the road. We can create just the design for purchase, or design and do it all. Take a look at how cool this is!

Also, great for real estate agents or for new construction is this feature. We can take a picture of your house and actually plant the plan right onto the photo, giving you a picture of what your landscape will eventually look like. Love it!
