Scovil Zoo

Mom and I took Beckett to Scovil Zoo for a few hours and it was a blast! They have redone a lot of the park, and it's a really nice zoo.  I love that it's only about 40 minutes away, too, because it ends up being a nice little nap on the way there, and a nice little nap on the way home.  Here are the pics from our adventure!
ALLLLLL ABOARD! The train was a great way to see some animals, and Beckett loved it.  The breeze was great, too.

This is in the petting zoo part of Scovil.  Beckett is trying to get to the goats, stage right.  Doesn't Grammy look pretty?

"Ooodle, ooodle, OOOO!"

There were teeny baby piglets and a huge sow.  Beckett snorted the whole time. It was hilarious.

Beckett would alternate between baa-ing and maaa-ing at the goats.  They were climbing and jumping everywhere!

We saw the cheetahs from the train.  A cheetah was one of his first stuffed animals, a gift from Mark Forget. These cheetahs were beautiful and just relaxing.

Who's the cute conductor?!

Beckett was fascinated by the wolf, who was prowling back and forth right along the fence line.  He barked at the wolf, who didn't bother answering.

We weren't quite sure what to think of the huge birds with blue tails. Except that he wanted to catch one.

The prairie dogs were adorable, and Beckett barked at them, too.  (There were babies!)

Back at the petting zoo, Beckett made friends with this little fella.

Okay, this goat was by far the cutest one there!  He must have been only a couple months old and just pranced around the entire time.  Beckett chased him, as you will see.

I mean, really?! How cute.

When we got food to give the goats, Beckett said "No, thank you," in the form of a "UUUUH!" and reach upward.  He was like, "Get me outta here!"

"That's better, mom!"

Clearly, these goats are not hungry.  Check out their figures!
We were there for about an hour, and it was just enough time to see the animals and avoid getting too hot.  We stopped at Culver's for some ice cream on the way home - yum!

SEW Cute

...If I do say so myself. :)

I made this dress for Kristin's little girl, Ava.  It's reversible and I'm hoping she will send me a picture of her in it. (HINT, HINT)  I would love to be able to do this stuff more often - it's fun.

13 Months Old!

We tried to do a photo shoot for the 13-month birthday (please note that the onesie stickers have run out - by etsy standards, my baby is officially beyond being a baby!), and here are the results.  (Note that these few frames came from sifting through about 160 options. Haha)

Such a big boy! I love this one.

I've had enough!

No, seriously. I've had enough!

Distracted by the birds

And a piece of straw. (He loves tiny things and can pick them up very easily.)

Alright, I'm up!
Sweet little face. Bottom left = nearing tears because the bird flew away.

In terms of verbal development, Beckett now knows:
-to tweet at birds
-to bark at dogs (and he also says, "dah!")
-to snort at pigs
-to baa or maa at sheep and goats
-to moo at cows
-to "ooodle, ooodle, ooooo!" in a very high pitched voice at roosters
-to quack at ducks
-Mama, Dada, ink (for drink)

Physically, he is almost running everywhere, with a grin on his face.  He can go up the stairs we have leading into the sunroom, but I'm scared about that, so I only let him do it when I'm right next to him.  He has eight teeth and one molar on the lower right.  His lower left one is about ready to come through, too.

Here he is napping in his bed.  (Rare items, these photos. Aunt Nancy, imagine the auctioneer saying, "Rare items, folks! These are RARE." It's true.)

Same bed, same boy, same pose, one year ago.  He is getting so big!

If I had to describe him in one word, it would be HAPPY!  When I picture him, I picture his beautiful bright smile.

Batter Up!

Grammy and Gramps got Beckett this t-ball stand for his birthday and we are getting to enjoy it this summer!

Tee Tee Tee

This elephant was a Christmas gift from Mandy and Levi.  It's awesome!  When you rub its back, it makes an elephant noise and raises its trunk.  When you tickle it under the chin, it giggles and shakes.  I showed Beckett the tickling trick and said, "tickle, tickle, tickle" when I did it. Then he would laugh.  After a few times, he started doing it, saying, "TEE, TEE, TEE!"

We read a few books about elephants this morning and looked at lots of pictures of them.  (I learned the African Elephant is the world's largest land animal. Interesting.)  They are beautiful creatures and Beckett loved them, too!

Boat Ride

Tonight was a special treat.  Mom and Dad took us out on the boat for a sunset cruise!  Beckett had both grandmas, gramps, and mom all along.  It was such a beautiful evening and mom got chicken, veggies, and potatoes for dinner. Beckett loved the chicken, the steering wheel, the horn, and the birds that kept flying over.  The life jacket = not so much. :)
Both grandmas at once?! LOVE OVERLOAD!
Gramps - I've got this.
CHICKEN! Yum-O!

Look at the birds!

That's a lot of love right there.  We are so lucky to have involved parents, and I love that Beckett has a great relationship with all of his grandparents. Happy.

Taking Mommy for a ride at sunset.

Gramps showed me the horn!

Grandma's first boat ride in a long time was fun!
I love my mommy, but I'm not too sure about all of these straps!
