Bo Woods Babes

Friday was so nice that we went for a picnic at Bo Woods. Beckett was full of energy and got to run around. I finally convinced him to sit long enough for a picture with Harper. :) 

We played chase and Shonn tossed him in the air "again! again! again!"

Harper loved the sunshine, too. Being outside calms her down. 

After Beckett found a fish skeleton, we headed home. After all, how do you top that?!

Zoo Two

It was zone defense for mommy today. I took the kids to the zoo since it was such a beautiful day! The double stroller (although entirely too heavy and cumbersome for its own good) actually worked well. Beckett called it the "Stroller Express" after the ZOO Express train at Scovill, and he climbed on and off as he pleased. It was pretty handy an we got through the zoo much more quickly. 

It was Harper's first train ride, and she loved it, until the conductor blew the whistle. Then she decided she didn't like it so much and stuck out her bottom lip and cried. Beckett said, "sissy's scared. It's okay, sis!" It was sweet.

Cox Family Reunion

This weekend, my mom's siblings ate gathering at GG's house. We got to spend some time with Uncle Mike and Aunt Linda, Uncle Jeff and Aunt Cathy, Uncle Rick, Natalie, and Cayden, Jennifer, Steve, and their new baby boy. He is only 3 months old, but already bigger than little Harp!

Which was fun for about five minutes, and then he ran away. I said, "Beckett, you need to come back here and keep cleaning." He replied, "No way! I'm not a cleaner!" Oh, dear.

Well, I beg to differ, sweet pea. 

Beard Family Reunion!

We had a wonderful time at the Mary Beard Family Reunion over Labor Day Weekend at the farm.  We spent all day Sunday with Shonn's relatives on his mom's side. Janis has two sisters - Aunt Vicki and Aunt Lisa, and they both have children (Shonn's cousins) and grandchildren.  While we were there on Sunday, we got to spend time with Aunt Vicki's family and Grandma Mary.  Aunt Vicki's kids are Dinisha and Chris, and they are both married (to Bryan and Ivy, respectively - haha) and have kids of their own.  Chris and Ivy's kiddos are almost exactly the same age as Beckett and Harper so it's really fun to get the kids together, although we don't do it very often.  We also got to spend time with Jay and his girlfriend, Nicole, and Adam and Jim.  The kids had a blast!  Beckett played football with Uncle Adam and Uncle Jay cuddled with Harpy.  Papa held Harper for a long time, too.

Dinisha brought supplies to make homemade ice cream and it was not only delicious but also fun! Beckett and MeeMaw have a comparison between store-bought and homemade ice cream. They decided both were pretty tasty!

Dino Hunting

We hid dinosaurs all over the yard and then explored to find them. It slowly turned into hunting them and eventually just whacking them with a large stick.

First Time Flu

Both kiddos have a stomach bug of some sort. The poor things have had a rough night. Shonn worked late and came home to this sad sight.
